As people involved in architecture and interior design, we are now responsible not only for the beauty of the space, but also for the stories behind the materials that make up it.
This time, Toyo Stainless Polishing Industry is introducing a new design panel series suitable for the ESG era, based on resource-saving stainless steel that reduces the use of rare metals such as nickel. While retaining the original luster of steel created by the initial machining process, the mysterious metal surface, which pursues a semi-mirror "hazy reflection" look, is adorned with four unique designs.

What we focused on was not a mirror-like reflection that reflects everything, but rather a "semi-mirror" nuance that softly blends out the contours.
The semi-mirror design is the original expression of steel, born from the "original cutting" process.
- Projecting the presence of people and the movement of light as shadows like an abstract painting
- Accept the changes between day and night, and between natural and artificial light, as gentle fluctuations.

The unique design polishing applied to resource-saving stainless steel achieves an exquisite balance between the natural light that seems to seep out from deep within the steel and the semi-mirror reflection that gently flickers on the surface.

We would like to introduce the four designs on display this time. All of them have their roots in the same resource-saving stainless steel material.
By adding different rhythms and textures to the music, a completely different worldview is created.
Design 1: Lumina Volte – A primordial screen where light swirls
"Lumina Volte" is a design based on the theme of a vortex of light.
A special polishing process, similar to sharpening a blade in water, creates a surface finish
It creates deep strokes and a slight undulation.
When light hits it,
- Multiple highlights swirl, not just in one direction
Depending on the angle you look at it from, it appears sharp like a sword and soft like fabric.

"RIPPLES" is, as the name suggests,

At first glance, it appears to be a silent metal surface. However, with just one step,

"Suimei" is a design based on the theme of the calmness of a clear water surface, like a lake in the early morning or a puddle after a rain. By taking advantage of the characteristics of the semi-mirror surface and controlling the polishing marks with extreme delicacy,
- Creates a smooth gradation of light with little noise on the surface
Even under strong lighting, it gives a soft reflection instead of a glare.
・Upon closer inspection, you can feel the breath of the delicate polishing.

"Jeux d'eau" means "play with water" in French. It is a light and rhythmic design reminiscent of a fountain or a curtain of water. While it appears random, there is a meticulous polished design behind it.
- Fine strokes and pointillist reflections sparkle and dance
・When you take a distance, his expression changes to a gentle one, as if covered by a thin veil.
