MAKO Osaka Sample Station is a sample exhibition center for decorative metals that opened on April 1, 2026, in Yodoyabashi, Osaka. Visitors can view, touch, and manipulate large-format panels in natural light to examine the texture, reflection, panel structure, and tabletop materials of stainless steel and titanium. This article summarizes the facility information and exhibits as of the time of publication.

01What is Osaka Sample Station?
MAKO's theme is "giving metal materials both aesthetic appeal and functionality," and they handle everything from decorative polishing of sheet metal to panel processing. At the Osaka Sample Station, you can see materials on a near-life scale so that you can check things like light reflection and the continuity of patterns over a large area, which are difficult to understand from small cut samples alone.
The address is Room 214, 2F, Sansen Koraibashi Tower Parking, 4-3-2 Koraibashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture 541-0043. As of the time of publication, it is a 5-minute walk from Exit 12 of Yodoyabashi Station on the Midosuji Subway Line. For detailed directions, please check the directions to Osaka Sample Station .
02The decorative metals on display
The exhibition not only displays material samples, but also introduces the background behind each product and the polishing process.
Umeeda®
This piece pays homage to the "Flying Plum Tree" at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and elevates the image of the region into a metal design.

Mysterious Mirror®
This series combines decorative polishing and 3D processing to express scenes, landscapes, and the interplay of light on metal. Details of the technology are introduced in the section on Mysterious Mirror®'s design and composite polishing technology .

Titanium design
This sample combines the high corrosion resistance of titanium with polishing and color expression. Titanium design techniques are categorized as "design titanium ," and processing methods as "titanium processing ."

03Check using natural light and a large-format panel.
This space allows natural light to enter through large windows, enabling you to appreciate the inherent reflections, textures, and brilliance of the metal. The lightweight panels, approximately 500 x 1100 mm in size, can be moved and their angles adjusted, allowing you to compare their compatibility with adjacent materials and how light enters them.

Since the appearance of mirrored and polished finishes changes depending on the lighting conditions, it's helpful to check comparisons of how stainless steel mirrors and stainless steel surface finishes look beforehand before seeing the actual products to better understand the differences.
04Material, structure, and tabletop samples
| Exhibition Categories | What can be confirmed |
|---|---|
| Stainless steel and titanium | Material color, polishing, reflection, texture |
| パネル構造 | Cutting, folding, bending on all four sides, etc. |
| Kitchen and furniture countertops | Surface and edges designed for practical use. |

The structural comparison is explained in the section on the structure and installation of decorative metal panels , and the basic structure of thin sheets is explained in the section on how to make stainless steel panels .

05Access and tours
According to the information available at the time of publication, the facility is open for approximately one week each month, and we request that you contact us at least one week in advance of your visit. Admission is free, and visitors are welcome to take home cut samples and catalogs. Please check the latest information before visiting, as opening days and other details may change.

For detailed access information, please see the directions article ; for other locations, please see the showroom/sample station page.
06Points to check during your visit
- How does reflection change with natural light and indoor lighting?
- How does the impression of the pattern change when using small pieces versus large panels?
- Compatibility of adjacent finishes
- Panel edges, joints, and back structure
- Fingerprints and ease of cleaning in areas that are touched by hands
Especially when using metal panels for walls and ceilings, checking not only the finish but also the layout design of the metal panels will make it easier to implement in actual projects.

08Summary
The Osaka Sample Station is a hub for evaluating decorative metals not just from images or small samples, but by considering factors such as light, area, angle, and structure. Its main role is to allow for consideration of actual materials, from material selection to panel structure and spatial fitting.
