The Story Behind Konayuki (Powder Snow)

The designing metal Konayuki (Powder Snow) was born from the scenery of Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, the hometown of the late Eizo Sasaki, grandfather of the current president. The distance between Aomori and Fukuoka meant limited opportunities for interaction, causing the snowy landscapes in his memory to grow ever more vivid and luminous.

The sight of powder snow drifting across the windowpanes as the morning sun streamed in.
I wanted to capture that pure, fleeting moment within metal.

He spent his childhood days returning to Aomori only during the limited time of summer vacation. His feelings for his grandparents and his longing for the rich nature of the northern land intertwined, eventually crystallizing into the Konayuki (Powder Snow) design. It transcends the cold impression of stainless steel, imparting an expression that even conveys warmth.

Technology: Snow Texture Achieved Through Micro-Grinding

Konayuki (Powder Snow) utilizes long-cultivated polishing expertise and proprietary equipment to precisely control microscopic polishing marks. This scatters reflections within the surface, recreating the soft, diffused light characteristic of snow. Its defining feature is the unique balance of deep, silvery brightness and diffusion—unattainable with standard hairline or vibration finishes.

Feature 1: Anti-Glare properties

Minimized reflections even under strong lighting.

Feature 2: Fingerprint & Stain Resistance

Surface treatment suppresses adhesion (Konayuki MD with enhanced fingerprint resistance and durability is also available).

Feature 3: Individuality in Each Piece

Employs natural variations as design elements.
