(hereinafter referred to as “Nippon Steel Corporation”), has adopted an old style devil’s face devil’s tile, one of the features of Japanese architecture, made of design titanium TranTixxiiⓇ, for a private residence in Kumano-machi, Aki-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture. The titanium titanium old-fashioned devil’s face devil’s face tile used this time was produced by Toyo Stainless Steel Polishing Industry Co. (Head Office: Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, hereinafter referred to as “Toyo Stainless Steel Polishing Industry”), under the supervision of Mr. Yoshihisa Sawato, Director of the company, who is also the director of the Hiroshima Prefectural Government.

TOYO STAINLESS POLISH INDUSTRIES has developed and commercialized a variety of traditional Japanese architectural ornamental hardware such as Rokuha Nail Hides, Uta Hardware, and Nemaki Hardware, all of which are made of Titanium TranTixxiiⓇ. Some of these products, including the new tiled tiles with an ancient devil’s face, are manufactured by laminating laser-cut titanium sheets without using molds to produce a wide variety of designs and sizes.

The titanium old-style devil’s face devil tiles weigh only 2 kg/piece, which is 1/7th of the 14 kg/piece of clay devil tiles, making them very light. In addition, design-oriented titanium TranTixxii® was also used in the replacement of roofing materials in this private residence. The replacement of the original clay tiles (11.7 t) with titanium tiles (0.4 t) significantly reduced the roof load and improved earthquake resistance. Nippon Steel’s design titanium TranTixxii®, with its versatile design and excellent corrosion resistance, is helping to pass on the traditional beauty of Japan to the next generation.
